Zou Bisou Bisou

£0.00

(translated Oh! Kiss Kiss), egg tempera on panel, 24 x 30.5 cm, May 2026

Still full of the joys of spring, I constructed this French Farce with new objects acquired at a visit to the Needham Market carboot. We were late and I got both figurines for half price – £5, which was my cut-off number, so it all worked out. But my most exciting purchase was the goat. I am a goat and I had never seen one before.

The other thing I always look for are scarves. You can fold them up neatly and keep buying them without taking up too much space and each one creates a mood, has pattern and colour and I love finding the character of the fabric. I doubt I would wear this one but it suggests a formal garden to me.

All together, including the eryngium which has lasted for weeks, a tulip I successfully kept out of the squirrel’s clutches, a few older pieces and some newish fabric book pages from Stowmarket, painting this brought me joy and made me laugh!
